Once upon a time, there was a little girl who lived with her widowed mother. They were very poor, and one day they had nothing to eat at all…
….until the little girl meets an old woman, who give her a magic cooking pot. Everytime the little girl wants to eat all she has to do is say the words “Cook, little pot, cook!” and, once the porridge is cooked she must say “Stop, little pot, stop”.
The Magic Porridge Pot is based on a traditional tale from Europe.
People have been telling different versions of the story for centuries.
It was first written down 200 years ago by the brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. They called it `Sweet Porridge’
